Case Study 2008: Test of future communication systems

Radio networks worldwide guarantee a high level of accessability and access to information from almost anywhere in the world. A variety of technologies such as satellite, radio, cellular mobile or fixed wireless networks for SOHO data transmission are employed. A key factor for the supply quality and capacity of all these transmission lines or networks is the proper function of all components in the high-frequency part of the signal chain. The case study addresses this issue using different measurement tasks for those components. Therefore the participants will suggest solutions using spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators and power meters.

The 5th nationwide case studies competition takes place during the period of 16 May to 18 June 2008 at a total of 14 German universities. The winning teams of the universities meet in a two days final from 26 to 28 June 2008 in Munich and fight against each other in a deeper case study the nationwide victory.
